You never forget your first love. I met Ben & Jerry‘s when I was 4 years old and visiting my grandparents in Vermont. It was love at first site when we went to their factory. I even went outside afterwards to thank the cows.
As I grew older our relationship became one of comfort. Ben & Jerry were always there when I needed them. They continued to surprise me with new things, but always had my old favourites to fall back on. But then I realized that our relationship had become unhealthy. I wanted to be healthy & sugarless, and they kept tempting me with New York Fudge Brownies. I knew I had to leave them.
It wouldn’t be long until I found another male couple to take their place... and soon after I met Harry & David. They were the total opposite of Ben & Jerry. They were upscale, and dignified. They offered me things from coffee, to appetizers and even accessories. But the best part was their wall of sugarless foods. Specifically Dark Moose Munch.
A combination of dark chocolate, kettle corn, and nuts all in a tiny bag. It’s so good it’s hard to believe it doesn’t have any sugar in it. While the Moose Munch is a favourite, their sugar-free cheesecake, sugar-free caramel balls and pretty much anything else they make is equally divine.
I still think of Ben & Jerry’s from time to time. And maybe, if they went sugarless and came to Canada things could be different. But for now I’ll stick with the men who treat me right, Harry & David.

I didn't realize Moose Munch was sugar free! I love that stuff. I also, however, love Ben and Jerry. But this is good to know.
They have sugar-free & regular versions of Moose Munch available in both the milk & dark versions. It's really such a treat!
And I think I'll always hold a special place for Ben & Jerry's, I just wish we could get more selection & sugar-free options of theirs in Canada :)
